December 2007 - Mike Mogil appeared on the Dave Elliot radio talk show (WGUF 98.9FM) in Naples, FL talking about "global warming."

We'll be posting more information as the visit date approaches. Signings will be held at various conferences, local Barnes & Noble stores and other venues.

December 2007 - Mike Mogil will be offering a "Global Warming - Fact or Fiction" program at the Renaissance Academy in Naples, Florida on February 12, 2008.

March 2007 - Barbara Levine will have a new teaching assignment in August 2007. She will become a team leader and 6th grade Earth Science teacher at the new Cypress Palm Middle School. Barbara brings with her more than 20 years of classroom experience and a strong science / math background.
March 2007 - H. Michael Mogil is now a certified storm spotter for Collier County, FL. As such, he joins thousands of other Amateur Radio operators, emergency managers, meteorologists and others in the community who offer their services on a volunteer basis in order provide earlier detection of hazardous weather. Community storm spotter training programs are linked by the national SKYWARN program that fosters a strong community severe weather spotter presence.
January 2007 - Barbara Levine has been recognized as a "teacher of distinction" by the Education Association of Collier County (Florida). She is one 40 top county teachers recognized for their teaching quality (skills and abilities) in the classroom. Barbara is a fifth grade classroom teacher at Laurel Oak Elementary School; she also serves as a co-owner of How The Weatherworks and teaches math at our MATHWORKS Tutoring Center.
January 2007 - H. Michael Mogil and Candice Marshall, a teacher at Kensington Parkwood Elementary School (Montgomery County, Maryland) have written an article about the "Fabulous Weather Day" program. This program, designed for first graders, has been offered at the school for the past 6 years. The article appeared in NSTA's Science and Children magazine.
November 2006 - How the Weatherworks (in collaboration with AWS Convergence Technology's WEATHERBUG program), has just released a new CLOUD CHART. The 23" x 29" full-color poster features 26 photographs and brief, but complete, explanations of the cloud types and their messages. There is also information about sky optical phenomena and a comparison between clouds from the ground looking up and from an airplane looking down. The poster is available at the How The Weatherworks web store, with ample time for holiday delivery and gift-giving.
October 2005 - How The Weatherworks announces its newest educational initiative - MATHWORKS - a math tutoring program for students in grades 3-12 in Naples, Florida. The program follows on our highly successful efforts at explaining "how the weather works." We will now be using our extensive math, science and educational skills to help students overcome difficulties in all aspects of pre-college mathematics. Small group and one hour personalized tutoring sessions have begun. For more information about the program, please visit the Mathworks web site.

May 2001 - TORNADOES arrives just in time for spring severe weather season -- A new resource / reference book about tornadoes written by H. Michael Mogil is published by Colin-Baxter Photography. Ideally suited for students ages 10+, the book features outstanding photography, easy-to-understand descriptions of tornado formation and destruction, and even global climatological information about these capricious storms. The book (and others in the WorldLife Series) is now available through the HOW THE WEATHERWORKS web store.
