MATHWORKS Is Again Offering "Back-To-School"

MATH CAMP 2008

Just in time to get ready for next year's school math classes

MATHWORKS, a math tutoring company located in North Naples, announces its Summer 2008 "Back-to-School" Math Camp for students entering grades 4 to 12.

The camp features half-day sessions (limited to 10) designed to get your child ready for math during the upcoming school year.

Camp sessions will follow the same format as the successful programs MATHWORKS offered in the summers of 2006 and 2007 and will focus on ensuring that your child has the skills needed to begin math in the new school year. This includes reviewing, relearning, introducing and understanding key math skills. We'll also incorporate mind-stretching math games and brief, whole group learning activities. Most of the focus, however, will be on individual needs. We intend to emphasize hands-on learning through the use of math manipulatives and real-life math experiences as we try to make math "fun" for your child.

MATH CAMP 2008 Schedule (grade level or class in upcoming school year)

Morning sessions will run from 9:00am - 11:30pm; afternoon sessions will run from 1:00pm-3:30pm.

Camp sessions will be taught by Barbara G. Levine (certified elementary science-math specialist and past 5th grade Collier County teacher); H. Michael Mogil (degreed scientist and previous 5th grade science-math teacher); and other specially selected tutors, including teachers from the Collier County School System.

Each attendee at MATH CAMP 2008 will receive a special set of grade-level appropriate math resource and workbooks. These will be used at camp, but can also be helpful at home, to reinforce skills and knowledge and/or serve as ready math references.

Students will need to bring with them a mini-MATH TOOL KIT that contains needed math supplies - several pencils, a Pink Pearl^TM eraser, a ruler and a loose leaf book (1" ring size sufficient) that contains both lined and graph paper.

Cost for the week-long program is $425 inclusive. Mathworks, however, is offering a $50 discount for each additional sibling who attends during the same summer (even if during a different week or class).

Applicants will be accepted on a first-come basis. A payment of $225 is required to reserve space in MATH CAMP 2008. Full payment is due by July 14, 2008.

Classes will be taught at our Math Tutoring Center on Immokalee Road two miles east of I-75 (across from Gulf Coast High School). Classes will run from 9:00am - 11:30am and 1:00pm - 3:30pm Monday to Friday (except for the Geometry camp the week of August 11...which will run from Sunday to Thursday).
